Solberg eyes LM outing
Former World Rally Champion Petter Solberg could become the next in a long line of rally drivers to race at Le Mans.
The 2003 champion, who has formed his own rally team after Subaru withdrew from the WRC, has been given a tryout in an LMP1 prototype by the French ORECA squad. And, according to team boss Hugues de Chaunac, the Norwegian has the potential to race in this year’s 24 Hrs.
”I am not excluding the possibility of him racing with us this year,” said de Chaunac, “although he needs to do more testing.”
Solberg, who drove an 2008-spec Courage-ORECA LC75E at Paul Ricard in January, will have further meetings with the team.
