Legends for Safari

Rally legends Stig Blomqvist (above) and Björn Waldegård are among early entries for the third East African Safari Classic Rally in December. The former World Rally Champions will team up with David Sutton at Historic Motorsport to campaign a pair of Escort RS1800s in the nine-day, 5000-kilometre rally.

Blomqvist, who has yet to win the Safari, will be co-driven by regular partner Ana Goni, while four-times Safari winner Waldegård will have his son Mathias alongside.

With 2003 and 2005 Classic winner Rob Collinge claiming that he has retired from rallying, the way is open for a new winner in the next Safari Classic.
