Racespagne centenary, Jarama (April 11-13)

Marking the centenary of Spain’s motor-sporting authority, this spring event offers a tempting escape from British climes on a cheap weekend flight to nearby Madrid.

Headlining the programme is the opening round of the FIA Cup for Thoroughbred Grand Prix cars, a series which is set for a great season. Local dignitary Joaquin Folch should head its field.

Supported also by the Historic F2 series, it promises to be a highly enjoyable event at the former home of the Spanish GP, where the viewing is first class.
