Historic Rallysport will field four immaculate Ford Escort Mk1s in the 50th anniversary Safari Rally event this December.

Mark Solloway’s company will prepare BDA-powered machines for Richard Gower, Ray Bellm, Anthony Ward and Simon Glover.

All four men will also contest the British Historic Rally Championship season before heading to Africa.

Ward’s version was used in its heyday by no less than Roger Clark for recce purposes on the Safari.
