For those seeking a detailed survey of all the cars, in their many different forms, produced during the life of the British Motor Corporation, Graham Robson has written the definitive work. It is laced with innumerable pictures, covering nearly 100 Austin, Austin-Healey, Metropolitan, Vanden Plas, Morris, MG, Riley and Wolseley models of the 1952-1975 era of the Corporation’s car manufacturing activities.

Robson is the right person to fill in the facts and the details, because he was a motor industry employee and later a journalist well acquainted with it. As an example of the lengths to which this book goes, it even lists unused names for many BMC cars, approved by the SMM & T.

We do not know quite who will want this feast of former BMC activity, but those who do should be grateful to the author for his very full coverage. Perhaps he will follow it with a similar volume on the Rootes Group, for whom he worked from 1969. WB
