Ideal pairs

Sir,

It was with interest that I read your article on pairs of cars, as I have idled away many a moment in this form of speculation while waiting for the football pools to yield results. With unlimited funds available, I would not content myself with only two vehicles, but if I were so limited I would choose, after much deliberation, my present TD21 Alvis saloon for family use, with either an SB Speed 20 V.D.P. drophead or a 4.3 short chassis V.D.P. Tourer for weekend and solo use. This pair would be complemented by my Ariel motorcycle, but of course that is three vehicles. Could anyone really be satisfied with only two?
