Dinky Toys (Meccano) have a miniature of a Superior Clarion ambulance with flashing red roof-lamp. No. 277 in this well-finished and detailed series, for which spare tyres can be supplied. Recent Lesney “MATCHBOX” miniatures cover a Ford heavy wreck truck with crane, and Esso insignia, three inches long (No. 71), a Volkswagen 1500 Beetle with Monte Carlo Rallye plates. and numbers, in white with plastic windows, measuring 2 13/16 in. in length (No. 15), a Case bulldozer to 82:1 scale (No. MB16) and a 92:1-scale eight-wheel tipper truck (No. 51). All these cost here 2s.4d. each.

Mettoy/Playcraft’s latest miniature is of a Renault 16, a 3 5/8 in. Corgi die-cast model selling for 7s. 6d. retail in the U.K. Other Corgi releases include an M.G.-B GT, only 3½ in. long but very fully detailed, with opening doors, suitcase, spoked and plated road wheels. etc., No. 345, also priced at 75, 6d., a very unusual model in the form of a miniature De Tomaso Ghia Mangusta coupé, of which the body detaches to reveal the detailed mechanicals, this one being 3 7/8 in. in length and selling for 10s., a Gift Set (No. 9) in the Corgi Agricultural Range, constituting a Massey-Ferguson tractor and tipper-trailer, this set being priced at 14s. 9d., and a number of children’s frivolities which this journal proposes to ignore.—W.
