Forthcoming Fixtures for Vintage and Pre-War Vehicles
We have been asked to announce the following:—
Auto 66 Vintage/Veteran Fixtures (April 13th and June 29th).
These will be open to motoreycles and cars, and consist of tests/static displays at a stately home between Matton and Driffield, in Yorkshire. Regulations from Miss B. Johnson, Mill Street, Hutton, Driffield, E. Yorks.
Second Pageant of Motoring, Penshurst Place (May 11th).
This is an informal event, with no tests or Concours d’Elegance, for the majority of entrants, which last year attracted 350 vehicles and some 10,000 onlookers. Run from 11 a.m., in aid of Seven Springs Cheshire Home, Tunbridge Wells. H.C.V.C. and V.M.C.C. will stage tests, etc. Souvenir programme. Penhurst Place open to visitors. Vintage Motor Cycle Club 6th S.W. Coast Run (May 11th).
Open to all types of pre-1931 transport and V.M.C.C. members. Start from Henlys, Bristol, at 10.30 p.m., via Weston-super-Mare promenade by 3 p.m., returning to Bristol at 5.30 p.m. 120 entries last year. Details from: N. D. Andrews, 37, Seymour Avenue, Bishopston, Bristol, BS7 9HH.
10th National Standard Register Invitation Rally (May 25th).
Open to any pre-war car or commercial vehicle by invitation. Emphasis on Coventry-made vehicles. Driving tests and Concours d’Elegance from 12 noon. Venue, R.A.F. Gaydon, near Leamington Spa. Over 150 entries expected. Long-distance awards, car and lady contest, etc. Support by Vintage Aircraft Group, weather permitting. Historic aeroplanes should be on view. Details from: J. R. Davy. Worthing Road Safety Rally (July 5th).
The 15th in the series, claimed to be one of the biggest of its kind on the South Coast, early application is advised. Open to modern-veteran cars. Details from: R. Lewis, Town Clerk’s Office, Town Hall, Worthing, Sussex.
Cleethorpes Veteran/Vintage Rally (July 26th).
Starts 2 p.m. from Sussex Recreation Ground, for six-mile run, followed by Judges’ inspection. Challenge trophies, two free teas per entry. Six classes: 1919 to 1940; one for pre-1931 motorcycles, others for pre-1941 B.S.A. four-wheelers, and for pre-1941 B.S.A. and Morgan three-wheelers. Entry fee, 7s. 6d. Organised by Grimsby V.V.C.
