His remarks are at variance with the unfortunate experiences of the late Laurence Pomeroy, whose 1953 Roll-Royce Silver Wraith developed such serious gearbox, clutch, radiator and suspension troubles that it represented a considerable loss, and whose 1958 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud, a one-owner, constantly-serviced, chauffeur-driven car, suffered automatic transmission failure within two months of purchasing it.
